BRIDGESTONE TO LAUNCH SECOND ANNUAL COAST-TO-COAST TOUR OF BMW CAR CLUB OF AMERICA HIGH-PERFORMANCE DRIVER EDUCATION EVENTS

Tour will showcase Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R extreme performance tire

Some things are even better the second time around.  2016 marks the second annual Bridgestone HPDE Tour beginning in May, promising to be even more exciting and educational than before with a host of new tracks to experience. From the breathtaking and challenging Circuit of the Americas course to the asphalt rollercoaster known as the “Corkscrew” at Laguna Seca Raceway, this year’s participants are in for an exhilarating ride no matter where they join in.

Each year, the BMW Car Club of America’s 67 chapters host over 80 high-performance driver education (HPDE) events at road racing venues all over the country. These events provide an opportunity for members to turn high-speed laps around some of the most well known racing facilities in the US while learning valuable driving skills—and more about their car’s performance capabilities in the process. At BMW CCA HPDEs, all levels of students are welcome, and our instructors work with members to understand their on-track goals and abilities.

The BMW CCA is pleased that Bridgestone has selected the Club’s HPDE program as a key platform from which to educate enthusiasts about the benefits of the Potenza RE-71R—Bridgestone’s ultra high-performance summer tire geared towards the enthusiast market.

“As America’s largest driving enthusiast community, the BMW Car Club of America is honored to again be recognized by a leading provider such as Bridgestone. These two great organizations have long teamed to deliver a message of safety and performance. We look forward to continuing to do so for years to come,” said Frank Patek, BMW CCA Executive Director.

At each stop, Bridgestone will provide onsite tire service, technical advice, tech talks, and showcase their latest performance tire—the Potenza RE-71R.

“The Potenza RE-71R tire is a unique street tire that stands up to the extreme conditions of the track and also delivers impressive everyday performance,” said Robert Saul, Director of Consumer Product Strategy, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations. “This tire is designed for enthusiast drivers who demand the most from their vehicles—whether they’re running laps on the track or navigating hairpin turns along their favorite scenic highway.

“We are excited to partner with the BMW Car Club of America. The Bridgestone Potenza BMW CCA HPDE Tour gives us the chance to educate BMW owners about the Bridgestone Potenza product line and our latest offering, the Potenza RE-71R extreme performance tire,” says Saul.

The second annual Bridgestone Potenza BMW CCA HPDE Tour will launch on the weekend of May 7-8, 2016 at the BMW CCA Heart of Dixie Chapter’s HPDE at Barber Motorsports Park. Registration for the event is now open for both students and instructors on Motorsportreg.com. The Tour will wind its way up and down the eastern region with a west coast stop at Oktoberfest in August, and then conclude at the two-day HPDE at Palmer Motorsports Park on October 15-16 hosted by the Connecticut Valley and Patroon chapters.
