At the end of last week’s column, I’d mounted the wing-cell bracket on the shark’s M30 block, and thought that a perfect photo to close the installment would be one of the Sanden 508 compressor hung off the bracket, even though I wasn’t ready to permanently install it because I still need to drain the PAG oil it came with and refill it with ester oil (which will be covered in an upcoming installment).

Life is all about balance. Those words sound so simplistic, like something you would read in a cheap card, or generic advice offered by an acquaintance in lieu of something more meaningful. If I’m honest, my life is all about chaos!

Last week I provided an overview of air-conditioning retrofit in general, and of what I expected the process to be with my Euro ’79 635CSi in particular. The sad truth is that in this country, you don’t have to know how to drive in order to get a driver’s license. When I got my license, I had to pass a written test to prove that I knew the rules of the road and what traffic signs meant.
