A Turner Motorsport Z4 now appears on the entry list for next weekend’s Pirelli World Challenge season opener in St. Petersburg, Florida. No driver has been named at this point.

Sportscar365.com reports that the Turner team is converting its Tudor United SportsCar Championship Z4GTD to its original GT3 specs, and that it will make an announcement regarding a driver on Monday. PWC is a sprint series, so there is only one driver per car, in contrast to the TUSC endurance series, in which there are multiple drivers.

The Pirelli World Challenge Series, which allows FIA GT3-spec cars to run, has attracted a great deal of interest this year; there are 54 entries for the St. Petersburg event, including 14 in the GT class, where the Turner Z4 will run.

Compared to the TUSC GTD class, where the Turner Z4 runs, GT3 allows a better aerodynamic package, ABS, traction control, and stability control, and a higher rev limit.

The Turner Z4 is one of two entered at St. Petersburg; the European Vita 4One team also has a car entered, although sportscar365.com says that the car may or may not appear in the race.—Brian S. Morgan
