Nick Wittmer, driving the #91 ST Racing M235i Racing, won the TC class in Sunday's Pirelli World Challenge GTS/TC sprint at Road America. He had finished second on Saturday, just ahead of defending TC champion Toby Grahovec in the #1 Classic BMW M235iR.

Cody Ellsworth in a Porsche Cayman won the TC class on Saturday. On Sunday the red flag was thrown about 40 minutes into what was scheduled to be a 50-minute race when Samantha Tan, Wittmer’s ST Racing teammate and team principal, hit the wall. Tan had finished seventh on Saturday. Stefan Sajic in the #18 Zima Motorsports M235iR finished second in TC on Sunday behind Wittmer.

The Road America rounds were non-points races for the TC class; not all of the season regulars elected to run. The next points paying races for TC will be run at Utah Motorsport Campus in August. At Road America the TC cars ran with the GTS class. Ian James took the overall and GTS wins in both races in a Panoz Avezzano GT. Saturday’s win was the first for Panoz since the team won the GT2 class in the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2006.—Brian S. Morgan
