It may not be the original, but it still looks pretty artistic to us. And it sounds great!

Earlier this year at the Goodwood Spring Sprints in Goodwood, England, a BMW 3.0 CSL that is currently campaigned by Sam Travers Racing (STR) was caught on video clearing its throat. This CSL has recreated the first BMW art car design and—understandably—draws a lot of attention wherever it goes.

The original Alexander Calder Art Car belongs to BMW, but is occasionally seen at significant events, like last year's Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.

The vintage racing STR CSL seen and heard here looks like a pretty accurate representation of Calder's original paint scheme, which was first applied to Hervé Poulain's 3.0 CSL and raced at Le Mans forty years ago next month.

This particular CSL was converted to it's current look and specs in the early 2000's. Plans for this year include racing at Silverstone, Zandvoort, and Algarve.—Scott Blazey

As long as we're hanging around Goodwood, here's an added bonus: European Le Mans Series Champion Ollie Webb takes the BMW 1800 Ti around Goodwood earlier this year.
