How many of you stop by the Hot Wheels section at any given toy store to look for something cool to add to your collection? Maybe more than just a few of us—and with BMW turning 100 this year, Hot Wheels has launched a special eight-car set (okay, technically a seven-car set and one motorcycle) with special colors and graphics on the blister card.

Knowing this set was due to be released soon in the stores, I have been looking for them. Store after store only to be disappointed not to see anything. Then I walk into one store and find a huge dump bin full of Hot Wheels. As I approach, I can see the familiar letters “BMW” in big white block letters staring at me.

They have finally arrived!

I grab a shopping cart and begin filling. Expecting to find maybe 20–30, I am surprised as I keep digging, that it is all BMWs. When I finished, I completely empty the dump bin and fill a shopping cart. There had been 6–8 regular blue card Hot Wheels somehow mixed in at the bottom, that was all that remained.

Off to the cashier, who gives me this look of “you have got to be kidding me”.

As I empty the cart and load the conveyer belt, several other cashiers come over to see this unusual purchase. After quite some time of ringing these up one by one, the receipt is almost as tall as I am. 564 cars later and I am heading out to my car with two shopping carts full of bags.

Well if you can’t find them in your local store or you are not the type to look for them in the toy stores, support the BMW CCA Foundation and purchase them from them. The set includes the 2002, M1, E30 M3, E36 M3, E92 M3, E92 M3 GT2, Z4 M, and the K 1300 R. Find them at: http://www.bmwccafoundationstore.com/index.php/hotwheels.html
