MINI owners from around the world rally from San Francisco to Boston: 14 cities, 18 states, 15 days.

We told you a couple of months ago that the Mini Takes The States rally would start near the end of July. The time is now, and the Minis are gone—from the starting line.

Mini owner, event partner, and extreme-boarding superstar Tony Hawk started the show with a Mini-inspired skateboard stunt to send the Mini drivers on their way from San Francisco, the first city on the route.

“Pairing Tony’s send-off with our community’s excitement at Golden Gate Fields was a true Mini moment,” said David Duncan, Vice President Mini of the Americas.  “You could feel the energy from the Mini community in the air.  This is going to be an epic rally like never before!”

The Mini Takes the States rally group will grow to as many as 1,000 participants and 100 pets. The event will finish in Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday, August 10. Mini people can drive individual legs of the rally, or as many legs as they want up to the entire remainder of the event. More than 350 of today’s starters intend to drive the entire route.

Small cars, big event, extreme fun, and it’s not too late to get in on it.

Mini owners looking to join up with the rally can still register at http://www.minitakesthestates.com or on-site the day of the event in each city. The registration fee for adults is $45. Pets and kids under twelve are free.—Scott Blazey
