BMW News

The new BMW 7 Series is due in late 2015 or early 2016, so it’s normal that spy pictures are appearing of various models of BMW’s next-generation flagship luxury sedan. Caught being transported is what looks to be a long-wheelbase version 7 Series in extensive camouflage.

The new 7 is expected to be lighter than its predecessor due to extensive use of carbon fiber reinforced plastic in some body panels and other components. Lighter weight would also translate into better performance and greater efficiency.

Expect the new 7 Series to be available with every driving assistance and luxury option in the catalog. Laser headlights, as demonstrated on the BMW i8, will likely be available—possibly as standard equipment—on BMW’s next top-of-the-line sedan.—Scott Blazey
