At November's ADAC SportGala, hosted at the ADAC headquarters in Munich, the automobile association honored this season's winners. The most honored prize is the large Christophorus trophy made of Nymphenburg porcelain that goes to the Driver Of The Year. The specialist jury made up of representatives from the ADAC and journalists picked Marco Wittmann as this years winner.

“Marco Wittmann impressively showed that he was the deserved winner of the title in the most popular international touring car series,” said ADAC sports president Hermann Tomczyk.

Marco had an amazing year in the DTM with three pole positions and four wins throughout the season at the Hockenheimring, Hungaroring, Red Bull Ring, and Nürburgring. Plus with five other top six finishes, allowed him to win the DTM Driver's Championship by 50 points! One amazing note to Marco's championship is that this was only his second season in the DTM and at 24, is the third youngest DTM Champion all time.—Nate Risch
