Maxime Martin, Lucas Luhr, Markus Palttala, and Richard Westbrook piloted the #25 BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS Z4 GT3 to second overall in the May 16-17 Nürburgring 24 hour race. They finished just 40 seconds behind the winning Audi R8 LMS driven by Christopher Mies, Edward Sandstrom, Nico Mueller and Laurens Vanthoor.

Dirk Adorf, Augusto Farfus, Nick Catsburg, and Jörg Müller finished fourth in the #26 Marc VDS Z4, the car that Farfus had placed on the pole. The Walkenhorst Z4 GT3 driven by Felipe Laser, Michela Cerruti, BMW Team RLL racer John Edwards, and Daniel Keilwitz finished sixth. Michele Di Martino, Moritz Oberheim, Kevin Warum, and Torsten Kratz in the Securtal Sorg Rennsport team BMW M235i Racing Cup class finished first in class and 25th overall. Both Team Schubert Z4s crashed out of the race.

BMW Motorsport director Jens Marquardt said, “Over the past 24 hours we have seen virtually everything that makes this endurance classic so enthralling. In a thrilling race, we eventually finished an excellent second and came within a whisker of winning.
