The new M4 GT4 turned a wheel in race conditions for the first time in the 24 Hours of Dubai on January 13-14.  Jörg Müller, Jens Klingmann, and Ricky Collard did the driving, while Schubert Motorsport, the team that is sorting the M4 GT4 for BMW Motorsport, entered the car.

It ran in SPX, a class for cars that have not yet been homologated. The new car ran just under 3000 km in an outing that was billed as a test session. Still, it finished 25th overall and fifth in class. The car will be available to customers for the 2018 season.

M235i Racing Cup competitors also ran at Dubai. Stephan Epp, Christian Andreas Franz, Michael Hollerweger, Heiko Eichenberg, and Oskar Sandberg finished first in class in a Sorg Rennsport M235iR.—Brian S. Morgan
