Club News

The Allegheny Chapter kicked-off the 2014 annual gathering by hosting a terrific Club Race field at PittRace. Great weather on Friday and Saturday resulted in both a large race group and a strong corral turnout. Thanks to all of the drivers and fans who came out! One of the best parts of PVGP happens this weekend when 180 race cars and over 2000 show cars head to Schenley Park! There is still time to join us!

Online registration for the main event in Schenley Park will remain open through Thursday morning. As always, walk-up registrations will also be accepted at Park but lunches may sell out!  Register Now!

The Chapter has a nice turnout of classic e30 registered so far. If you have an e30 of any year or model, the Chapter extends a special invitation to bring your car to this event! As always, all BMW’s of any model or year are welcome at the annual gathering.

Thursday, July 17th

If you are in town on Thursday, July 17th, join us at Pittsburgh’s Haufbrauhaus. Nothing structured is planned, just a fun gathering spot on Thursday night! If staying at the host hotel, arrangements are being made for a shuttle to the Haufbrauhaus.

Friday, July 18th

This year’s Friday drive will head back to the Laurel Highlands where the club will have lunch at the Ligonier Tavern. Our visit will coincide with the Ligonier Art and Craft Show. After lunch, stroll the artwork or visit Fort Ligonier, one of best examples of a British Fort dating from the French and Indian War. The return trip will pass south of the City and will stop at Sarris Candies for an afternoon snack. After returning to the hotel late afternoon, the Chapter’s Friday evening welcome reception will take place at Sewickley BMW. This 1980’s themed event should be a great addition to our packed calendar. We are pleased to welcome Erik Wensberg who will be our guest speaker. If you have a 1980’s BMW, be sure to bring it to this event!

Saturday/Sunday – July 19th/20th

Join us in the BMW CCA Corral with reserved trackside parking, catered lunch and hospitality tent. Watch the vintage racing through the streets of Schenley Park within 250 feet of tent!
