DTM has released the details of its new two-race-per-weekend format.
The Saturday race will be a 40-minute plus one lap sprint, with no tire change required, while the Sunday race will be 60 minutes plus one lap, with a mandatory stop to change tires.
Qualifying has also been changed; the three-segment Formula One style qualifying is being replaced with two twenty-minute qualifying sessions, one for each race.
BMW Motorsport will once again field four two-car teams in the series. BMW Team RMG’s Marco Wittmann is the defending drivers’ champion.
