BMW News

The BMW M1. BMW’s first supercar. The car that is probably on more BMW fanatics’ dream car lists than any other Bimmer. We envy our fellow BMW CCA members who own one and are delighted when they bring one to a Club event.

M1s don’t come up for sale that often, but there’s one up for auction on eBay right now that sure looks nice. It claims to be all original, have fewer than 8,000 total miles, and was owned by a Japanese museum for the last 30 years where it was regularly driven and maintained.

If we were in the market for an M1, if we had a knowledgeable mechanic we could fly to Fort Lauderdale for a thorough pre-purchase inspection, if we had an open slot in the garage, and if we had a half-million dollars we didn’t know what to do with, we would consider taking a much closer look.

But here in the real world, all most of us can afford to do is look, so enjoy the pictures.—Scott Blazey
