BMW Team Brasil’s Átila Abreu and Valdeno Brito in the #77 BMW Z4 GT3 finished second in both the qualifying race and the main race in the Blancpain Sprint Series event at Brands Hatch in the UK. Their teammates Sergio Jimenez and Caca Bueno in the #0 Z4 GT3 finished fourth in both races. The Triple 8 Racing Z4 GT3 entered in the Pro Am class for Joe Osborne and Lee Mowle finished second and third in class in the two races. The win in both races went to Robin Frijns and Laurens Vanthoor in the WRT Audi R8 LMS ultra.
The British Touring Car Championship ran on the same weekend at Thruxton. Andy Priaulx in the #111 West Surrey Racing 125i M Sport finished fifth in race one; he retired after being spun by a competitor in race two, and returned to finish thirteenth in race three. Rob Collard in the #6 WSR 125i M Sport finished second in race two, while Sam Tordoff in the #7 WSR 125i finished second in race two and third in race three. Gordon Shedden won race one in a Honda Civic Type R, Jason Plato won race two in a VW CC, and Adam Morgan won race three in a Mercedes A Class.—Brian S. Morgan
