BMW has announced the assignment of its eight DTM drivers to its four DTM teams. The announcement comes just days after Tom Blomqvist was awarded the only open driver's seat.

The 2014 title winners remain together; drivers’ championship Marco Wittmann and rookie of the year Maxime Martin stay at BMW Team RMG, the winner of the 2014 team championship.

Martin Tomczyk, DTM champion for Audi in 2011, remains at BMW Team Schnitzer, where he will be joined by António Félix da Costa, a rookie last season driving for BMW Team MTEK. Timo Glock remains at Team MTEK, where he will be joined by 2012 champion Bruno Spengler, who is moving from Team Schnitzer. Finally, Augusto Farfus remains at BMW Team RMG, where he will be joined by 2015 newcomer Tom Blomqvist.

BMW motorsport director Jens Marquardt says, “We go into the new season with a very strong driver/team line-up. This is the best line-up we could wish for. In total, our eight drivers have racked up 334 races and 31 victories in the DTM. We have a good mix of young and experienced drivers, who are all capable of making their mark on the series. At the end of every season we analyze whether and how we can make any minor changes to tease a little more out of the overall set-up. We remain true to our philosophy that we can only enjoy long-term success in the DTM with four teams of equal strength. We have had positive experiences with this approach in the past. We are confident that we have found the ideal line-up for the 2015 season, in which we will face a number of new challenges with the new format of the race weekends.” (The series is moving from one to two sprint races per weekend this year).
