BMW tuner AC Schnitzer has been working on performance and styling upgrades for the F82 BMW M4 Coupe and chose the 85th Geneva International Motor Show to let the world see its latest masterpiece, the ACS4 Sport.

To address the desires of most M4 owners, Schnitzer bumped up the power. An additional engine control unit pulls 79 horsepower more from the turbocharged six, taking it to 510 horsepower. Even better, it boosts the torque to 475 pound-feet.

To make certain that everyone knows the engine has more power, Schnitzer has a new race exhaust with valve control that allows for customizable sound. Exhaust tips come in chrome or carbon.

Underneath the M4, Schnitzer’s lowering spring kit drops the car by between 1.0 and 1.18 inches in the front and 0.4 to 0.6 inches in the back. Schnitzer also offers a full, totally adjustable racing coilover kit that can lower ride height by 1.18 to 1.59 inches in front and 1.18 inches in the rear.

AC Schnitzer’s aero treatment of the BMW M4 is very obvious but also visually balanced. The carbon-fiber front spoiler elements can be augmented with a larger racing front splitter. The front is nicely framed by a pair of stubby dive planes on each forward corner. The carbon-fiber rear wing comes in both track and street versions and the taller wing is definitely high enough to get into the airstream. The carbon-fiber rear diffuser nicely sets off the quad pipes. Other distinctive touches include a roof spoiler which is rather subtle, and carbon-fiber side mirror covers.

Schnitzer offers a choice of wheels: Type IV Rims in BiColor black, Type V Forged Wheels in BiColor or anthracite, and Type VIII Forged Alloys, Racing Forged Wheels and Alloy Rims in BiColor black, silver or anthracite, in sizes up to 21 inches.

For the interior, options include aluminum pedals and foot rest, an illuminated AC Schnitzer gearshift knob with digital gear display, aluminum Black Line handbrake handle, velour floor mats, and something we would never have thought of a few years ago—an aluminum iDrive controller cover.

If you’re wondering about the chrome Schnitzer badges in back, Schnitzer does complete conversions in addition to selling parts. The conversions done by Schnitzer get their badges.—Scott Blazey
