Club News

Old rivalries were renewed as four members from the National Capital Chapter—Steve Kletz, Jerry Focas, Eric Villamater, and Scott Levin—joined forces on the green team at the Club’s Two Day M School held March 8th-9th at the BMW Performance Center.  These “Boys from Baltimore” challenged each other with their driving skills lashing the competition package M3, new F10 M5, and brand-new F12 M6 around the track.  Friendships were set aside as sweat poured from their brows racing around the handling track for the timed competition. Meanwhile, their fifth teammate James McClellan, a NASA engineer from the Houston chapter smoked them in the King Rat Race, and showed them not to mess with the “rocket man!”

Father and son teammates, Roger and Dan Gorham from the NJ Chapter, faced off against Rick Teixeira of the Connecticut Valley Chapter, Erik Balogh from NY, and repeat-offender Wayne Devonport from Tarheel Chapter, as they pushed their blue team to the max. Wayne returned to perfect his track skills in anticipation of Advanced M School which he hopes to tackle someday soon.

The red team of Chris Soong and Andy Kim of the National Capital Chapter, and Drew Malapit from the NY Chapter, teased their teammate Clay Camp, Jr. for wearing red gloves on the track, but Clay proved that the gloves made the difference in his speed! Rod Noble, who travelled the farthest from the Rocky Mountain Chapter, unfortunately contracted the flu, but will return to defend his title at a future M School.

The next Club Two Day M School in June is full, but there are spaces in the August 9th-10th and December 6th-7th programs.
