BMW News

There are a lot of strange cars driving around China, but it seems there's a limit on just how ostentatious a ride can be.

In the "you can't make this stuff up" category, a BMW Z4 was supposedly impounded in Shenyang, in northeast China, for being too shiny, according to Car News China, which picked up the story from Chinese site 21CN.

The Z4's modified paint job is apparently "officially not allowed." The car violated a few other regulations. It had no license plates, "extra LED-lights," and glowing rims, all of which are also apparently banned.

The owner faces a fine of 500 yuan, about $79. According to Car News China, if the Z4 is impounded a second time, there's no getting it back. Mind you, with no license plate, how do you prove it's yours anyway?
