Team Schubert wins at the Nürburgring

Jörg Müller, Dirk Müller, and Dirk Adorf won the opening race of the 2012 VLN season on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in their BMW Team Schubert Z4 GT3.

The Z4 qualified second on the grid behind the Falken Motorsports Porsche. Dirk Müller ran the first stint, pitting as rain began to fall. The Z4 moved into the lead just before the two-hour mark, and held on for the win. The race, originally scheduled for four hours, was stopped just after 2 ½ hours because of fog.

Coronel reaches the podium twice in Spain

Tom Coronel in his ROAL Motorsport 320 TC finished on the podium in both of the World Touring Car Champion sprints run in Valencia, Spain on April 1. Yvan Muller of Chevrolet dominated race one, but just behind him there was a battle for second between Coronel and Gabriele Tarquini in his SEAT. Officials waved a warning flag at Coronel after he bumped into Tarquini on several occasions; after that he backed off a bit, but he held on to finish third.

Coronel chased Chevrolet’s Alain Menu for much of race two, but was unable to pass him for the win. Coronel finished second ahead of BMW privateer Stephano D’Aste, who won the Independents’ Trophy.
