The BMW 3 Series has been a longtime resident on Automobile Magazine’s list of all-stars, with seventeen previous appearances on the list. So seeing the 2014 BMW 3 Series receive the award is not unique. What is new is that the Three shares the spot with the BMW 4 Series. It’s not really a surprise, since previous 3 Series that made the exclusive list comprised both two-door and four-door models. The new BMW 4 Series coupe is undoubtedly starting its own string with an All-Star Award in its inaugural year.
The editors at Automobile Magazine stated the obvious, “The BMW 3 Series is a perennial Automobile Magazine All-Star award winner, with this being its eighteenth year on the list. For 2014, the 3 Series name refers to four-door models, while coupe and convertible versions get the 4 Series badge. The 3 Series/4 Series sums up a lifetime of automotive hopes and dreams for generations of American automotive enthusiasts.”
The award will be presented during the 2014 New York International Auto Show. BMW will present the full range of 3 Series and 4 Series models including the new 4 Series Gran Coupe, which will be making its North American debut.
