The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for 2007-2008 model year BMW K1200R, K1200R Sport and K1200S motorcycles due to a potential issue with the front brake fluid reservoir.

According to the NHTSA release, “In certain riding conditions, the brake fluid in the front brake fluid reservoir can foam,” an issue that “could lead to a reduced braking capability of the front brake system, possibly resulting in a crash.

2,062 units are potentially affected by the recall. The front brake fluid reservoir on affected units will be retrofitted with a screen insert, free of charge.
