SpeedyCop Garage Tour

This drive will be a little different than what we are used to. We are headed to the very eclectic garage of Jeff Bloch, aka Speedycop. We will meet at Crofton Middle School at 7:00am. The address is 2301 Davidsonville Road Crofton, MD 21114. Police Sergeant Jeff Bloch, AKA "Speedycop", is the creative mind behind such iconic 24 Hours of LeMons race cars as the Upside Down Camaro (featured in Roundel), the Spirit of LeMons Cessna airplane racecar, the SpeedyCopter (a road-racing amphibious Vietnam attack helicopter), and the BMWhatever---a 1998 E36 rollover victim reborn with random antique bodywork---to name a few. He's also a BMW owner and enthusiast. His 3200 square foot shop at his home doubles as a hanger for the airplane and helicopter, both of which are street-legal! His previous racing BMW builds included an E36 themed as the Titanic (and later the Merrimac), as well as a 1963 Ford Thunderbird with a carbureted BMW M70 V12. The latter was eventually re-powered with a BMW M21 diesel. At his shop you will also see the V16 Continental (twin V8 power), the Honda Accordion, the infamous 8-wheeled mystery car with dual 12A rotary power, his Reliant Regal (of LeMons Rally/Roadkill fame), and many other projects. Veteran of more than 60 endurance road races and 25 LeMons builds, he is an automotive icon. His racing team, Speedycop & The Gang of Outlaws, has earned two national championships, and their builds have been featured in numerous magazines and TV shows. We will then head to lunch at Gilligan's Pier in Newburg, Maryland. This is on the water of Popes Creek, and we will have a covered pavilion near the sandy beach.
