4th Annual High Peaks Drive - Patroon BMW CCA

Hope most of you can make it. Like previous years, I'm trying to keep it to 15 cars max, but feel free to pass along to other members if you think they'd be interested since we still have space. More information to come (I.e., final route, exact times), but here are the basics: Duration = 1 day; morning meet up, finish at dinner Format = mix of scenic and technical roads, photo stop / picnic lunch, dinner Location = Adirondak Park region We'll be meeting at the Clifton Park Rest Area (between exits 9 & 10 on NY 87 north) Picnic lunch at the Newcomb Overlook Park Dinner will be at Uncle Mario's Garage, a car themed restaurant in Queensbury, NY with great pizza Guests = permitted, but drivers must be active BMW CCA members due to insurance rules I'll be doing a final headcount about a week before so I can call the dinner restaurant for reservations Waivers (attached) are required for guests in addition to drivers, this is for insurance reasons and is required before participating Costs = participation is free (just sign the waiver for you and your guest), pay for your own food Other logistics Please ensure your car is in good working order, as we'll be driving through some areas without cell phone service This event will happen rain or shine and we'll adjust our pace as needed depending on the conditions Prior to meeting, I recommend stopping off at exit 9 for gas and coffee / breakfast (lots of great options) and then meeting the group at the Rest Area parking lot - we'll try to park in a conspicuous area. We'll have a quick driver's meeting, and then head north There will be at least two stops for fuel / bathroom along the route, please note that if you require anything higher than 91 octane you should fill up that morning since many pumps around here only have up to 91 We'll be having a picnic lunch, so please be prepared for that I have a pair of radios for the lead and follow car. If others have radios, please bring them. Permissible countermeasures for hazards are also recommended. Any questions, please just email me.
