Loess Hills Fall Driving Tour

This event will allow each of us to enjoy our cars as we tour some of the less traveled roads in our area. We will also have the opportunity to see geologic formations that are unique to our region. We plan to gather in the morning at a large gas station and convenience store complex in Onawa, Iowa so we can all meet, catch up with each other, get provisions, and of course kick tires and see each other’s cars. The Driving Tour will take about 3 hours and will end at a facility in Omaha where we will all meet up for a mid-day dinner with all of the appropriate social distancing. The route will be provided as both an electronic link that will open in Google Maps ready to provide navigation, and a printed map with the annotated route instructions and circles inserted to draw attention to areas with “odd” turns. The plan is to meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Cenex gas station and Cubby’s Convenience Store located at: 2715 Iowa Ave N, Onawa, IA 51040. Please park behind the Cubby’s store.
