Maryland Monument Meander

We will meet at the Maple Lawn Cars and Coffee (8180 Maple Lawn, Fulton MD 20759), which begins at 9am. You need to be there no later than 9:30am to sign the waiver and for the mandatory drivers meeting. Come with a full tank of gas and an empty bladder. There's a Highs less than a mile west of the start on MD-216 and there is a Starbucks at the Harris Teeter if you don't like Ethiopian coffee at Sidamo. The roads were LOVELY (only a few places with bottlenecks of any kind) when I drove it on 29 April. We'll stop for lunch around noon at Bassetts in Poolesville. Most roads are rural country roads with a couple higher-speed highways thrown in. Leisurely tour (avg of about 40 mph) of some Maryland roads leading up to the Washington Monument State Park after our lunch stop with a final stop at South Mountain Creamery.
