I am selling our beloved M3 because we rarely drive it anymore and it's time for someone else to really enjoy it. I have owned it since 2016 and am the 2nd owner. It is accident free, no re-paints, never in snow/salt and in impeccable condition. Mostly maintained by BMW of Ann Arbor, and well known there, partly because I am the founder of the Motorcity Chapter of the BMWCCA (back in 1985). Yes, it has been tracked, but only about 10 total "easy" days; never went off the pavement. I thought I would get more serious with track driving than I actually did with this car. (I also had Corvettes and other BMWs for more serious track use.)
As it sits today, the car has a matching-color roll cage, racing seats and racing harness. I will happily swap back to the factory seats and remove the roll cage for the new owner, if desired. As the pictures show, the factory seats are also in excellent condition.
A few top quality upgrades and modifications have been made:
Brembo brakes at all 4 corners with BMW logos. (6 Piston in Front, 4 Piston in rear.) This is typically a $8000 upgrade; the stock brakes are good, but also ugly. The stock brakes (calipers and rotors) are included if desired.
BMW F80 front hubs. I upgraded to stronger front hubs, again thinking I might seriously track this car, which didn't happen.
Front camber plates by Ground Control. No other suspension changes were made; it still rides very comfortably.
Apple CarPlay insert. The center display can be switched by the "Menu" button between the stock BMW functions and a wireless Apple CarPlay controlled by your phone. (Don't know about you, but I need my Waze and Pandora running.)
Optional Engine tune. The car is currently running without a tune, but I have a performance tune that can be written if desired. BMW of Ann Arbor recently updated all the module on the car to their latest software versions.
The 2013 is the last year of the E92 M3; last year of the non-turbo V8, last non-turbo M car, last non-electric steering. As one of my pictures shows, we also owned an 2018 F80 M3, but its vague electric steering, turbo lag and harsh suspension were a step backwards from our 2013 M3, and we sold it after just 3 years. Its for good reason that the E92 M3s are appreciating in value.
This M3 has been absolutely trouble free; just frequent oil changes and new spark plugs. Unlike the turbo cars, the S65 engine is very reliable. Pre-2011 S65 engines had issues with weak connecting rod bearings, but this was corrected in the 2012 and 2013 cars. An oil test by BlackStone showed no bearing wear or issues. BMW of Ann Arbor just completed an oil change and inspection; I prepaid the next two oil changes for the new owner.
In short this is an impeccable, low mileage 2013 M3 which is ready now for serious track use, or will be returned to stock seating configuration, your choice.
