Last night, while my 2018 230i was parked in the driveway, the windows went down and the sunroof opened on their own, only to be discovered in the morning. There was also a bad rainstorm all throughout the evening and night. In the morning I found the car with windows and sunroof open, and filled with water; about an inch in the rear foot wells. What would cause this, and how can it be fixed so that it will never happen again? Thanks in advance. Taking it to the dealership tomorrow for them to go through it.
Normally we find people sometimes have keys in the pocket that press and hold the unlock button and cause the windows and roof to open.
Sorry to bump an old thread...I had a MINI Cooper that did this, and the fix was a software update. My wife's car did this a month or so ago, and she had an issue with getting the sunroof to close. It was abnormally cold that morning, and it has not done it since then, so we think the termperature may have been a factor. In both cases, the keys were hanging up inside the house, so it was definitely not an accidental "press and hold."
