It's time for some maintenance and I would like to have the water pump replaced. Can someone share their preference for a specific aftermarket brand and source? Thanks - scott
I'm not up on alternatives, but you can lookup your part # on realoem.com and try google search of the part number - "BMW xxxxx", & see what comes up. Might also be worth checking what the warranty is on the replacement part from BMW.
I recommend sticking at least with BMWs provider of the pump pierburg. The water pump has a integrated processor module that is on a network. I have seen aftermarket cheap pumps cause problems on these networks and not communicate with the DME properly to give you the best cooling plan.
