   I am replacing a trunk latch (51 24 7 840 617). The old latch is mounted with torx screws; the new latch looks untrheaded.
   
   Has anyone installed these before? Are the screws self-threading or do I need to tap it?

   You don't mention your car model -

   It's a 2008 E60, though that latch is used on many other models. Thanks for the link!
