    Hello,
I'm a new member with a 2003 325IT. I love the car but had a few questions. It has 101k and I've heard different things about servicing the auto trans. I've heard it was sealed and not serviceable with new fluid but i also heard it had a small drain plug on the back and could be done but not reccomended because it could cause a problem?
    Thanks,mike

I've heard from a few people that unless you're having problems with your transmission, just don't touch it

I've heard that from some too. I've also heard that the proper way to help the trans is to drop the pan and change the filter, draining out 3/4th of the fluid and repace with new, leaving some of the old in. That may prolong the life of the trans.
The dealership said they discontinued reccommending changing the fluid.
I dont have a lift so it would not be an easy job.
I guess for now i'll stick with reccommended services like servicing the coolent.
