The original style 48 wheels on my 2001 530i are beginning to lose some luster & shine.Any ideas for cleaning and bringing some of the luster back. Presently wash and Clean with P21swheel cleaner. Various posts mention waxing etc. Any opinions?
The longer your wheels have brake dust on them, the faster the dust starts to embed into the wheel itself. Most metal polishes will help you out, but my recomendation is to use griots. You can wax after that for shine and easy cleaning.
Definitely agree with the OP. I use Griots wheel cleaner with every wash (once a week) and then about every other month use Mothers Wheel Polish with the cone. There are a number of wheel wax's on the Market and Mothers is my choice because of the ease of application with their foam cone. It also is easy to remove when it dries. It makes the wheels pop and stay much cleaner. In between washing and waxing I also wipe the wheels with a micro fiber cloth to eliminate the build up of brake dust.
