How far will they drag you?

    Our Wolverine amigo says:

The cheap "come get me" coverage on my insurance policy is there for when the plug kit and compressor are insufficient for the job.

Ah! Yes! But! There is roadside assistance. . . and there is roadside assistance. The reason I maintain BMW Roadside Assistance on the roadster is the distance issue. Most RA programs-including our own BMW CCA Premier Membership program-have a limit to the free distance they'll tow you. (Our program is probably best for many members because it covers up to four members of your family, if they're living at home.)

BMW's program specifies to the nearest BMW dealer. I have been in too many places where that would mean 500 miles or more!

I pay for coverage to get me to a safe place. My BMW never needs repairs, but once in a while I do need to address "minor performance shortcomings".
