   I have a 1998 740i and I am looking for powering steering fliud...the owner's mannual states that ATF fluid is to be used....what is ATF fluid and where can I get it besides a BMW dealer

   Automatic transmission fluid, specifivally, Dexron, available at any auto parts store.
