I am in need for select parts for a 1988 528e that i just bought and am trying to make road worthy. Specifically i need the complete instrument cluster and the passenger front window motor/regulator. What i am really trying to find is a junkyard that has this year/model. Any help or direction would be appeiated. tx mike cottrell
When you find one please let me know and I will do the same for you if I find one. I bought a 1988 528e in May also and the instrument cluster does not work at all. The A/C does not work. Other than that and the seats worn out it runs good. I removed the seats and interior and had the seats recovered and carpet cleaned. The dash was a pain to remove. I have found a few sites on the web that have directed me to serveral different salvage yards that have the part. If you access www.uneedapart.com you can enter the model, year, VIN #, etc. You then select a part you need and the system will broadcast out the need to various salvage yards. They will then email you back. I found several instrument panels from the mid west to NY State. The give you the price with shipping and will take it back if it does no work. FYI
Well, Hellooooo, sailor! You think about telling him that pretty much every window motor in every E28 is the same? That broadens the search possibilities by a lot. In fact, if he gets desperate enough, I might even be moved to yank one out of my silver parts car.
