   can you ask your local dealer for a recommended
   
   independent BMW-trained shop?
   
   ... Not sure if they would be so gracious, but the car is out of warranty and you may want to locate a small specialty repair shop that is well-versed in BMWs.
   
   The 7-series cars have a LOT more electronics gizmos, so you need to maintain more to keep it happy.
