I "rejoined" in October when I bought my 1997 840Ci. I have always wanted one of these cars and it is a tremendous machine. The power (on a rolling start) is remarkable and pulls very strong well past 130 mph. While it is governed at 155 the top end is over 180mph. I'm pleasantly surprised that the car will get 26 miles per gallon while on cruise control at 80mph where it is only pulling 2300 rpm. It lopes along at 2800rpm at 100mph and has great manners on the freeway. The car is a bit heavy around town but I still really enjoy it. I'm active on Bimmerforums E31 gallery along with a bunch of other SoCal 8's. The gang on the site is very helpful with problems for these complicated cars. The V12's seem to have more difficulty than the V8's so I'm glad I chose the V8.

Anyway, glad to be here. If you have an E31 come join us on Bimmerforums.

Welcome to the asylum! The E31 will still look like a current design when it hits 30!
