Can I "clean" an Oil Level Sensor"? 2013 M3. I see that a new O-RIng can be purchased for the part. New sensor is approx. $200.

Though I'm new to BMWs, I've spent the past 45 years working on cars as a home mechanic. Most automotive electronics aren't really serviceable, sensors especially. The internal seals eventually break down from time, heat, and exposure to oxygen. It's usually just simpler and safer to replace an old sensor than attempt to clean or repair.
