No apparent access to a drain plug(underneath access blocked by sheet metal cover), no dip stick access (electronically monitored), no commerical maint. mannual available. Can I remove the oil thru the oil filler cap using a pump? Very frustrating. Suggestions....
Thank you. Now all I have to do is jack up the car and locate the access to the plug.....Great resource
Steven, The picture of the oil filter is not what I see in my engine compartment and I note the TIS reference page does not site the Z-4 series I actually own. The car is a 2007 Z-4 3.0Si Coupe (Motor Type: N 52/ Platform Engineering Series E 86). The TIS reference is for the Z' E 85>Z4 3.0i (M54) Roadster supplimentary service(M54/M56). Should I be concerned that there may another maintanence/service manual? Thank you again for your assistance.
How about this one? http://www.bmwblog.com/2009/02/02/how-to-change-oil-on-a-bmw/ I really wouldn't be concerned with anything else. Then again, I drive an E36 which is borderline vintage.
