My mechanic told me that I need to replace all 4 lower control arms on my '03 745Li. He told me it would be about 1300 which sounds reasonable, but he is probably trying to make a profit on the parts he is selling. So, I went online and found Lemforder control arms for about $150 each.

    1. Could it be that he has a price close to that for the parts he is going to get? And that most of the cost he quoted me on would be labor time?

    And

    2. Is Lemforder a reliable brand?

    3. Is it a simple as 1 control arm for the front right and left and rear right and left? 4 control arms or would additional parts be needed?

the parts I found can be seen about the way down the page at the link above.

Please let me know. thank you!

Yes; that's about what they'll cost him. I don't exactly see $700 worth of labor in that job, though. Replacement is fairly straightforward. Even I can do it.

    Yes.

    Yup. Nope. Just those parts.
