My 3.0i 2005 Z4 will sometimes go into limp mode when I pop the clutch too quickly and it lunges...the engine seems to be firing on 2 cylinders...I pull over, turn it off and let it sit for 2 minutes or so - restart and it's ok - the service engine light even turns off. Is this caused by a bad sensor? Any ideas? Doesn't happen too often but when it does the car is immobilized.

    Thanks,

    Gary

The service engine light goes off, but the code is stored. You should really scan the car and see what the code is. That will steer you in the right direction.
