my trunk latch wont close anymore.. what can I do to fix this? there doesn't appear to be any damage from the outside. is it just a worn out spring or a rebuild that I need to do? I've tried maneuvering the key in the lock to see if I can get the latch to catch, but it just won't budge.... and because my trunk won't latch the top won't fold down. Man I gotta get this fixed. and do it by myself if at all possible. Please anyone with ideas let me know. Thank You

    Lock assistance

Whenever I have any issue with our locks, the first thing we try is hitting it hard w/ WD-40. This was advice my dealer service advisor gave me years ago when we had keys that would not work in our E24, and half way to Florida this week our E36 trunk lock freaked out, so I blasted it and it appears to be OK for the time being.
