I have a 99 Z3 2.8 and it has a little hesitation when you take off from a stop. I have changed the plugs and fuel fitler and air filter any other suggestions that may help or any Ideas of what the problem is. I had read some where that the oxygen senser could do this does anyone know anything about that. Thanks
Hello. With Z3's.. I've seen everything from a loose spark plug, a poorly designed channel for rain/wash water causing it to drop in on the engine cover-rolling down and off-and fill up the spark plug chamber causing the coil spark to ground out, to (notoriously-for your car) faulty coil packs... or a dirty Idle Control Valve (cleanable and under the manifold). I would start with these things and see what you find. Please keep us updated and Good Luck! -Gatsby
You might also want to consider removing and cleaning your engine's MAF, particularly if you're using a reusable oil-impregnated filter.
