Hello all! I am very happy to be a part of the BMWCCA. You guys seem like a great crowd to roll with and I cannot wait to meet up with my local chapter (Sandlapper). Here is my story: When I was in high school, I worked on the weekends cleaning an apartment complex in North Bergen, NJ. It was managed by a BMW employee that managed the apartment on the side. I don’t remember what he did exactly for BMW, but I knew he had a new car every few months. He would come over to my house and show me his sick new ride with all the bells and whistles. He once took me out for a spin in a 5 series. Man oh man, I was hooked!!! I told myself that I one day would own a beast of car like that. Okay, now in my adult years: Eight years ago, I met my beautiful wife, who too shared a love for BMW’s. Every time I pointed out a bimmer to her, she would grin like a kid and say, “oh yeah, one day, not today”. So, I made a promise to myself that I would get her one before I did. This year, a week shy from her birthday and our five year wedding anniversary, I decided to give her one gift that would have me covered for both occasions. A 2013 BMW 328i with the M sport package. She's been kind enough to let me drive it every once in a while. Next plan, for me to get a job at BMW so I can get my own car, lol. PS. I lost contact with my former employer and have tried to look for him for years. His name is Benjamin B. (last name was french), worked at BMW, lived in Jersey City, NJ around 1998-2002. Maybe someone out there knows him.
Wahoo, another Greenvillian! Welcome to the club, you'll get to learn and love all of us Sandlapper and treat us like family (although, most of us would rather NOT get a bear hug like the one pictured above). Awesome gift, very VERY awesome gift, she's a very lucky gal! I can relate, I let Mr. Bee drive the One Series every once in awhile, but typically only when I have to haul large/dirty objects like plants and such. Driving his Four Runner just makes me appreciate my One that much more! Welcome!
Wow! Too cool! My Espousal Unit buys her own BMWs, but I surprised her once with a Dinan exhaust for her birthday!
Hehe, sweet. Yes, I am patiently waiting my turn to get my own. If I could land an IT job with BMW, that will be my first purchase.
