This year BMW North America has generously agreed to sponsor another BMW Corral and hospitality area at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca during the Continental Tire Sports Car Festival Powered by Mazda Featuring Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. This joint event, presented by the Golden Gate Chapter and Sacramento Valley Chapter, will be located between Turns 4 and 5 overlooking the track. This year the Rolex Grand-Am returns to Laguna Seca for an unusual Friday and Saturday race weekend. Three days of racing will be compressed into two days! In the Continental Tire race there are 43 entries: 11 BMWs and 3 MINIs. In the Rolex DP and GT race BMW is represented by Scott Pruett from Roseville, CA in a Dinan BMW powered Riley, hoping to defend his 2010 Championship. Turner Motorsport's BMW entry is the lone BMW in the GT race. Up close and personal visits to several BMW Team pit areas are on the agenda both days. We plan to walk down into the pit area as a group to visit the teams. Another Grand-Am event during the weekend is the opportunity to go onto the track on Saturday afternoon just before the race to talk to and photograph the drivers and their crews and cars. Corral tickets are $15 per car, this price include the credit-card and track-processing fees. All corral passes can be picked up at Will Call -- we will not be mailing them. You can only buy your corral passes here! Registration closes July 6. Race tickets and the Event Schedule are available at the Laguna Seca Web site.
