So my wife has been experiencing an odd problem in her '02 E39 525i touring. Lately when she hits standing water (Some around lately) on the right side of car, the ac stops and today she said radio also stopped working. Any thoughts?
No clue, although sounds like something electrical? Like a relay or something getting shorted temporarily from getting wet? That's nothing I've had happen, but I've also never had an E39, so unfortunately can't help much on that.
Sounds like something is shorting out with the water. Why the radio and a/c are connected I am not sure. When the a/c stops does the blower also stop or does the compressor just kick off and the air is no longer cold? How long does it take for the a/c and radio to come back on after they shut off.
