2013 M3 Conv, CPO, 18,00 miles. Searching for solutions to water drip, passenger side A-pillar location. Wife not happy! Leak is recent, only hand-washed, no leak during water bucket test, only with heavy rain. Thanks for any and all replies, Noel & Jeanette Dunham-Seminole, FL bulldunham2597@yahoo.com or 727-423-5145
Thanks for the reply Sir, the leak is a small drip from where the top meets the A Pillar. There is a channel (tunnel) that runs down the a pillar that appears not to be clogged.
So couple things could be causing a leak there one is a seal that is not properly fitted causing a slight cap to open up under hard water pressure. The other could be misadjusted window. The windows on this vehicle are what creates pressure on seal causing the seal to apply force against other seals thus generating a light water tight seal. Depending on how hard the water pressure is, either from a strong rain storm or high pressure car wash the seals can leak a small amount of water into the cabin.
Agree with you on the above....Top was adjusted by dealer a few months ago......windows on passenger side appear to go into correct alignment and the automatic window movement when opening/closing looks identical to drivers' side. Applied a weather strip sealant product (303 Brand) today to all the rubber gaskets top and body side. Will conduct another leak test later today. I appreciate you replying...Noel
Two (2) car washes and a light rain with no leak.....so far..... hopefully the weather strip lube product fixed it. I have seen some very scary YouTube videos. Thanks Charlson for your responses.
