I had to bring my 2007 335i coupe to the dealer for a battery change and while inspecting the car they found a broken nozzle on the 2 turbo vacuum tanks (stock code 11652247620). First can somebody tell me how this can happen since this is a static item and secondly can I replace them myself? The dealership is asking $180 while the 2 tanks only cost $35 a piece. It looks fairly easy to change but couldn't find any detailed procedure. Anything particular to watch for while replacing them? Thanks a bunch for any info you might have.

It is about a 10 min job, (1)10MM bolt on fender and 2 10MM below and the whole bracket comes out, this will be enough to get the the bracket that holds the canister on. They got broke by pulling on the vaccum line...more than likely the dealer actually did it. Stett performance makes metal ones that you can have painted any color you like.
