My 2006 325i is out of warranty with 52K and I would like to service it myself and follow what's recommended. I've maintained my own cars and motorcycles for years and I'm tool and shop equipped for most jobs. How do I get a complete maintenance schedule for my e90 so I can keep it in great running condition. Thanks Pete
Mike Miller writes the tech talk column in the roundel. He will sent you a maintenance schedule, for free, if you email him
Get a Bentley Manual! Do yourself a big favor and pick up a Bentley Manual for your E90. They're available now and on Amazon.com cheaper than anywhere else I've seen. There's a section in the beginning on how to do the routine stuff yourself. Well worth the price of admission. =D Rick
This type of info can usually be found in the owner's packet (in your glove box). Apparently there is no Inspection I/II on E90s. The only cars that still use that are the Z4 and X3, and those both just went out of production. CBS (condition based service, such as the E90) cars have a vehicle check around every 30k miles. It's a check sheet that includes stuff like checking the lighting, horn, seat belts, battery, suspension, leaks, etc. It can only be covered by warranty when your car says it's due. Here's how they used to be maintained: http://www.bimmerzone.com/inspection.htm
