Has anyone else experienced this weird and scary problem? I was driving on the highway in San Diego somewhere in the vicinity of 65 mph, when suddenly I heard a chime, the interior light came on, I heard some wind noise, and I noticed that my door was ajar! Fortunately, I was wearing a seatbelt and was able to simply grasp the interior door handle and pull it closed. I thought this was one-off weirdness, but I searched some other BMW sites and found a few people in 3 and 7 series reporting the same problem. At least one has pointed to a door latch or latch cable problem. I'm going to ask my dealer to check it out while it's in the shop for TPM issues.
